Road to Istanbul-Zidane's Big Challenge against Tuchel


Chelsea and Real Madrid ready to recommence the tie of the second leg of their Champions League semi-final at Stamford Bridge tonight. The scoreline was 1-1 after 1st leg thanking the brilliant finish by Pulisic and Benzema at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano last week.

Chelsea earned a crucial away goal but dropped the chance to finish the tie in Madrid as their no. 11 Werner made some trivial mistakes in the final third. Zidane's tactics did not work adequately. His left full-back veteran Marcelo, who captained the side, had no particular position in the field. He was neither a left-back nor a left midfielder; that's why French little dynamite Kante got so much space in his way, which gave the blues ample chances to attack counter. 
Zidane can't make what happened in Madrid right. But he is a man of great integrity. he can turn around the result in Stamford Bridge. He earns criticism for not conquering Tuchel's realm for once in his coaching career, trailing this personal tie by 1-0. It may happen tonight even though he has an ill squad. The list of injured players of RM is large. Dani Carvajal, Lucas Vazquez, and Rafael Varane are already out of this match. Ramos and Mendy have calf muscle problems and may get a chance to start as Zidane has very few players in hand. The front and mid 3 players are indisputable for Zidane though Hazard will be benched at his beloved Stamford Bridge. He may get a few second-half minutes. 
The home side is expected to use their same XI except for Timo Werner. He will probably be benched by Tuchel after the match-winning performance of Havertz against Fulham on Saturday.
Hence, a rigorous test for Zidane to keep alive his team's UCL campaign and play in the final against a top English side, Man City, at Istanbul on 29th May.
