The Tarantula

Daniel Alves da Silva, mostly known as Dani Alves, was born on 6th May 1983 in Juazeiro,Bahia, Brazil .He is the best right-back of the last decade and arguably the best of all time. This 5 feet 7.5 inch Brazilian carries the record of winning the most international trophies in his career with 40 trophies in his pocket. He won almost every possible trophies where he participated as a player except FIFA World Cup attempted twice in 2010 & 2014.

He started his professional football career for Bahia in 2001. Young Alves displayed good performance there, and Bahia transferred him to Spanish club Sevilla in 2002-2003 mid-season on loan. Sevilla hired him on full contract very quickly, witnessing his talent on the pitch. He made extraordinary improvements there. Many top European clubs, especially Liverpool and Chelsea, attempted to sign him, but nothing conducive happened. He won 5 trophies there, including UEFA Cup (Currently UEFA Europa League) twice. He scored 15 goals and assisted 29 times at ''Sanchez Pizjuan''. His Sevilla career ended in tears of satisfaction.

On 2 July 2008, Alves joined Barcelona with a transfer fee of £23 million, including add ons depending on his performance. He was then the 3rd most expensive player contracted by FCB in their history. He was a regular choice of Pep Guardiola's Tiki-Taka plan. His chemistry with Lionel Messi under Pep on the right-hand side of the pitch earned him a lot of respect in the football world. He provided 68 assists and scored 15 goals for Pep's regime. He was part of the great FCB side that won the La Liga title 3 times in a row and conquered UCL twice. He left Barcelona with 23 trophies. Later in 2020, he revealed that he was mistreated in his last days at FCB. He told the press, “I would have stayed here all my life, but I find it disrespectful how they tried to get rid of me through the back door. If they had treated me the way they should have, I would still be at Barcelona,” Alves continued. “I turned down a lot of money from Real Madrid – who, whether I like it or not, is a great club to join – to Camp Nou, and I didn’t want to get kicked out. What I wanted was to leave when I wanted to.” He knew that the club wanted to get rid of him. “Nobody wanted to talk to me when the contract expired.''

On 27 June 2016, Juventus announced the signing of Alves on a two-year deal. His most memorable part of Juventus's career was the brace of assists for Juve in their semi-final first leg against Monaco and an assists & goal in the 2nd leg in UCL Semi-Final.

On 12 July 2017, Alves joined French side Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract. He played as a right-back first season and attacking Midfielder in the second season as he was edging his career. After his contract with the club expired on 30 June 2019, Alves became a free agent.

Dani Alves is a die-hard fan of the Sao-Paulo football team. He returned there as a player in August 2019. Despite playing as a right-back throughout his career, he has taken a position in the midfield since his arrival and received the number 10. He started his journey in Sao-Paulo, saying this in front of the fans,'' Do not stop believing in your dreams because they are possible. After having gone around the world, it is the first club that I wear the shirt, and I am a fan. It is a thrill to receive this mantle, and the moment has come.''

Dani Alves is an energetic character, and his devotion to Football will be cherished for a long time.
